Delete your data

Your data, your call — deletion is always available

Everything Have We Met? holds about you is tied to your sessions: uploaded photo metadata, matched moments, the optional name and met date, and any photos you revealed. Here is how to remove each layer, from a single photo up to everything.

Revoke a revealed photo

  1. Open your session's results in the app.
  2. Find the moment carrying the photo and choose Revoke shared photo.
  3. The photo is removed from your partner's view and deleted from our servers.

Leave a session behind

Sessions end on their own: each one expires 24 hours after it is created. The location and time records from your scan are deleted within 24 hours of that, and the matched moments and any revealed photos are deleted 7 days after that. You don't need to do anything for this to happen.

Delete everything

To erase all data connected to you from our servers:

  1. Email privacy@havewemetapp.com with the subject "Delete my data".
  2. Include the session code(s) you used, if you still have them — it speeds the lookup. If not, we'll work with whatever you can tell us about when you paired.
  3. We confirm and complete deletion within 30 days, and we'll email you when it's done.

What deletion covers

One honest caveat: a session's results are shared by nature, so deleting a session removes it for both participants — your partner will lose the results too. And nothing we delete can remove what a partner already saw, saved, or shared while the session was live.

Limit what the app can see going forward

Photo access is granted through iOS and can be narrowed or revoked anytime: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Have We Met. Deleting the app from your phone removes everything stored locally on the device.
