Before you met,
you almost met.

Your photos remember where you were and when. Compare your library with a friend's and find every time your paths crossed before you met — the same beach, the same concert, sometimes minutes apart.

Your photos never leave your phone unless you share, and sharing is always your choice.

How it works

Four steps. One story.

1

Start a session, invite one person

You and one other person pair with a private session code. A partner, an old friend, someone you just met — anyone whose past you're curious about.

2

Your libraries are scanned — privately

The app reads only the location and timestamp metadata your photos already carry. Only that metadata is sent and compared with your partner's. The photos themselves don't leave your phone.

3

See the moments you almost met

That compared data then comes back as Moments. Curated, sorted, and mapped out for you, these Moments tell your story of the times you two almost met before you met.

4

Discover and Share

Sharing your photos with your partner is always your choice, and will populate their moments with your photos for the complete picture. Find something special? Share that moment to create a custom card you can post anywhere you like.

Every crossing has a category.

Before they met, some pairings circled each other for a decade. Others shared only one impossible afternoon. Every comparison holds a story.

Our closest moment

The single nearest moment you two shared when you were still just strangers.

The closest you came to meeting before you met

Same Place, Same Time

You were both there. The same beach, the same festival, your favorite bar, same day.

Same spot, same day

Just Missed

One of you left as the other arrived. The door had barely closed.

Blocks apart, within 2 days

Close Encounters

You both visit the area, just slightly more removed in timing.

Within a mile, within a week

Same Place, Anytime

The places you both keep returning to — separated only by the calendar.

Within a mile, any point in time

Ships in the Night

If you and your partner don't have many close matches, we show the moments you've been the closest, regardless of distance or time.

Any distance, Anytime

Private by design

Your photos are yours.
Only the where and when travel.

Photos stay on your phone

Matching uses location and timestamp metadata only. No image ever leaves your device unless you deliberately reveal it.

You control the reveal

You select which photos to reveal, if any. They will then show up on your partner's side — and you can revoke the photo share at any time.

One pair, one session

Sessions connect exactly two people by private code. There is no feed, no discovery, no strangers — only who you invite.

FAQ

Asked, answered.

Does the app see my actual photos?
Matching runs on the metadata your photos already carry — GPS coordinates and timestamps. Full images stay on your device. A photo is only ever transmitted when you explicitly reveal it to your paired partner, and you review every photo before it goes.
What does my partner see before I reveal anything?
They see the moments — places, dates, and distances where your paths crossed — with your photos shown as a placeholder curtain. Your images appear to them only after you choose to reveal, and you can revoke a revealed photo at any time.
Do we both need the app?
Yes. One of you starts a session and shares a private code; the other joins with it. The comparison needs both libraries' metadata, contributed by each of you from your own phone.
What if my photos don't have location data?
Photos without location are simply skipped. Most phone cameras have geotagged by default for years, so libraries usually hold far more located photos than people expect. Screenshots and saved images without GPS are ignored.
How long does a scan take?
About a minute for a typical library. Large libraries with tens of thousands of photos usually finish in under two. Slow connections can make it take a bit longer.
What happens when we already know when we met?
Tell the app the month and year you met — or that you've always known each other. Your results split into "Before" and "After" your meet date, or in the case of always knowing each other (family) all moments will be shown in the "After" format.
Can I delete my data?
Yes — sessions and their shared data can be deleted, and you can request full deletion at any time. See Delete your data for the exact steps.
